Again, it has been 2 months since I've posted any updates. Wow seems like now the frequency is around once every 1-2 months? Hahaha.

For some reason, life seems to just whiz past you without you noticing it. The past 2 months seems more like 14 days rather than 60 days. Partner went on a holiday and I solo'ed the clinic. And great news is, my turn is next! :D

The bulk of my time has been spent, of course, on work. Still managerless. But the good news is, I will probably get a manager in before CNY! Asked my director yesterday on our way to a meeting and he promised he will find us a manager before CNY and asked me to hang in there for a little more. Yay to lesser OM/division meetings after CNY, yay to travelling to super ulu places less! ^^

Time flies yea? Been this way for 3 months but yet it doesn't feel like it. Oh well, 2 more months to go. Although it has been really hard and demanding, I would think this 3 months has been the most rewarding in terms of my career growth and my perspective towards patient-care, people management, putting both my foot down in trying times (during the initial period when staff thinks you are a pushover and tries to push you because a manager no longer exists overnight), revamping the system and getting buy-in from staff so that they are in favour of the changes you are trying to make and simply the sweet success when staff appreciates what you are doing. Somehow, the day seems so much better when people thank you at the end of a very hard and long day.

Made several changes, hopefully for the better, but I guess in this line, the only constant is change. And I am starting to enjoy change unlike in the past. Changes bring about challenges and unforeseen circumstances. Unforeseen circumstances bring about experience and experience brings about foresight. And foresight brings about constant output. And that of course, brings about satisfaction.

The new CEO met up with the OEs and OMs yesterday and spoke about surviving in this line as Ops. Demanding job and yet grossly underappreciated. It was nice of him to tell us of his experiece and for us to draw upon them. I felt motivated by what he said and reaffirmed my passion for healthcare. Not the glamour of rubbing shoulders with the Drs (some of them are really just human beings, with ugly sides) but holding the stage in place for the clinicians to practise their craft, and for patients to have the means to heal and manage their bodies well. An end to a successful day is not chilling around in the office, but to manage chaos from within and ending it just like how a good regular day should be.

Maybe in a years time.. maybe, when my mind and body is more "willing" to go through the "abuse.. then maybe :)

Anyway enough about work.

2010 is dawning upon us! And when it comes, I will be at the airport. Hahaha. What a sad way to end and start my year, but definitely memorable. Oh well, at least Leon is with me so I guess it's not too bad afterall. Will be in Moscow for the next 16 days. No more constant phonecalls from all over the place. No more 50 emails to read and reply. No more patient complaints to handle. No one FON Drs to handle. No more meetings. No more brain-abuse! For 16 days! YAY.

Pray hard I don't miss home (I doubt)

See you all in 2010!

Have a smashing good time! Happy New Year everyone!
